The conference is held in 2 portions. During pre-conference, we hold 2-day courses that are in depth courses for both Thursday and Friday. ![]()

On Saturday and Sunday, we offer 2 and 4 hour breakout sessions with a variety of different classes. ![]()

One of the best parts is that the main part of the conference is offered to VASARCO members at only $30. ![]()

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of one of our founding fathers, Dave Carter. Dave passed away on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.![]()

Dave was one of the pioneers of the Virginia Search and Rescue Program, and literally wrote the book for the original program. With over 50 years of dedication to SAR, Dave was one of the most respected members of our community. For many of us, Dave was one of our first instructors, and his mentorship and guidance helped to shape us into the SAR professionals we are today.![]()

The SAR program in Virginia would not be where it is today without the dedication and determination of Dave. His unwavering commitment to the cause and tireless efforts in training and mentoring new recruits helped to save countless lives over the years. Many of the students he taught and mentored have gone on to become leaders in their own right, continuing Dave's legacy and passing on his teachings to future generations of SAR professionals.![]()

Dave will be deeply missed by all of us in the SAR community. His contributions to our field are immeasurable, and his memory will live on through the countless lives he helped to save and the many students he taught over the years.![]()
