Opportunities Available

Black Diamond Search and Rescue offers the following opportunities to local governments, EMS agencies, law enforcement, and volunteers:

* State SAR Certifications
Black Diamond has a team of Virginia Department of Emergency Management Instructors to increase its ability to train their own members.
* Coordination of resources
* Networking with regional search and rescue teams and resources
* Monthly training opportunities for sharpening search and rescue and wilderness skills
* Trained experienced members responding to local wilderness emergencies –┬áBlack Diamond currently has more than 70 persons certified as Field Team Member or higher.
* Community involvement and educational opportunities for youth

You will also need to complete the following online classes. They are provided to you free of charge and can be done at your own pace.

You will first need a FEMA SID# (Student Identification # ) to register for and participate in training.
