Black Diamond was alerted for a full call out to Pittsylvania County, VA. All resources
from Ground, K9 & management were requested, The search was later turned over to law enforcement as a fugitive mission.

Bristol Virginia – Full Call out for a Missing 19-year-old black male with Asperger’s Syndrome and/or is in the Autism spectrum. Due to this he may not respond to strangers. Subject was located due to investigation by Law Enforcement. The subject had been in the search area, however a business owner noticed the missing subject “hanging around the business”. Due to the cold weather and not wanting the subject loitering, the business owner paid for the subject’s room at the Super 8 motel. Once the identity of the subject had been verified, field resources were called back to base and the mission resumed as a law enforcement investigation.

Shady Valley Tennessee – Full call out for missing 16- year old female to support an ongoing search mission in Shady Valley Tennessee. The mission subject was separated from her hiking party on Nov 11, 2015. Virginia SAR resources were requested to assist in the ongoing search in the Cherokee National Forest in northeast Tennessee. After an extensive six day search mission, the missing girl was found, alive; Hungry, exhausted and dehydrated. After a short EVAC off the mountain, the subject was checked by EMS and reunited with her family. This successful mission was a joint effort from many Virginia and Tennessee agencies including SAR, Fire, Rescue and Law enforcement.

Wytheville Virginia – Full call out for two missing hikers. This search was during the GSAR Academy being held at Hungry Mother State Park. Resources were pooled from the various teams represented from across the state to respond. Both subjects were found alive.
